Wike Challenges El-Rufai on Tinubu’s 2027 Victory

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has publicly challenged former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his prediction that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election.
During a media chat on Monday, Wike dismissed El-Rufai’s calculations as “flawed and wrong,” stating that the former governor “goofed” in his political forecast.
“El-Rufai is my friend, but he failed in this mathematics,” Wike said. “He goofed; since he knows Tinubu will come third, he should also provide who will be first and second. I will place a bet if El-Rufai agrees, if Tinubu doesn’t win the 2027 election securely.”
Wike’s comments were a direct response to El-Rufai’s recent prediction that Tinubu would finish third in the upcoming presidential race. Wike expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election, going as far as to propose a bet to prove his point.
