“We Don’t Have Time” – Defence Minister Musa Vows to End Killings of Nigerians

The newly sworn-in Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, on Friday declared that the relentless killing of innocent Nigerians across the country must cease immediately.

Dependable NG reports that Musa, who served as the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), emphasized that the era of terrorism and criminality must end, allowing students to return to schools and farmers to get back to their farms without fear of attack.

The Army General made these forceful remarks upon formally resuming office at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja. He received a rousing welcome from Ministry officials who greeted him with solidarity songs as he stepped into his new role.

Musa conveyed a sense of urgency, stating: “We do not have time, we are going to hit the ground running and we must respect the human rights of Nigerians. Our loyalty is to Nigeria and the Nigerian people, the shedding of innocent blood must stop.”

He stressed the importance of restoring normalcy for essential activities: “Children should be able to go back to school, and farmers should visit their farms without fear. And with the support and prayers we are getting from all Nigerians, we can’t fail.”

President Bola Tinubu nominated General Musa for the role of Minister of Defence following the resignation of Mohammed Badaru. Musa was confirmed by the Senate after a rigorous screening on Thursday and was sworn in by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
