VeryDarkMan Admits He Initiated Arrest of Activist Harrison Gwamnishu
Social media critic, VeryDarkMan (VND), has publicly admitted that he was the one who initiated the call that led directly to the arrest of fellow activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who is currently being held in police custody in Benin, Edo State.
Dependable NG reports that speaking in a Facebook video on Friday, VeryDarkMan confirmed that Gwamnishu was picked up on Thursday night. He confessed that he personally contacted the police after receiving reports about a serious incident involving Gwamnishu in Auchi.
VeryDarkMan claimed he was “disappointed” by the details he gathered and had initially urged some individuals not to publicize the matter online. However, a video later surfaced on social media, prompting him to publicly challenge those involved. He said one of the individuals who posted the video claimed they did so to clear their name after being falsely accused of having ties to the case.
The influencer heavily criticized Gwamnishu’s subsequent response video, describing it as “gaslighting” and an attempt to manipulate public sentiment for sympathy, despite Gwamnishu allegedly knowing the full facts of the situation.
VeryDarkMan added that although the police had instructed those present not to record, one person managed to capture a clip showing Gwamnishu returning money connected to the case. He further stated that Gwamnishu’s truck is currently impounded at the police station in Edo State.
Dismissing suggestions that his actions were motivated by jealousy, VeryDarkMan insisted he only intervened because he believed “the truth” needed to be upheld. He expressed hope that once Gwamnishu is released, he will publicly “say the truth” about the incident, warning that he may be forced to reveal more details if Gwamnishu fails to do so.
In his video, VeryDarkMan stated: “So, Harrison Gwamnishu is in the police custody in Benin, Edo state. He was arrested yesterday night. In all honesty, I initiated the call that led to his arrest. I did. And first of all, I’m really disappointed in everything, but I would wait for him to come out, and this time, I would want him to use his mouth to say the truth about what happened in Auchi.”
