US President Donald Trump Makes History with Knesset Address After Gaza Ceasefire

In a historically significant moment, US President Donald Trump addressed the Knesset on Monday, becoming the first sitting American president to speak before Israel’s parliament since 2008.
Dependable NG reports that speaking to a fully occupied chamber in Jerusalem, President Trump began his remarks by expressing it was a “great honor” to stand before the Israeli lawmakers. He opened with a religious reference, stating, “Today is a day to give thanks to the almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Reflecting on the newly established Gaza ceasefire and the cessation of two years of conflict, Trump proclaimed that the current peace signaled a new era, declaring: “Today the skies are calm, the guns are silent, the sirens are still, and the sun rises on a Holy Land that is finally at peace.”
The President specifically commended the courage of the 20 living hostages who were reunited with their families earlier that day, recognizing them as “symbols of courage, survival, and the unbreakable spirit of the Israeli people.”
Trump concluded his speech by promising a new era of cooperation and expressing his hope that the agreement would bring a lasting transformation to the region. He described the moment as “the historic dawn of a new Middle East” and suggested the end of the conflict was also “the end of an age of terror and death, and the beginning of an age of faith, hope, and of God.” His closing statement, “This is an age of concord, a time when enemies become partners and faith triumphs over fear,” was met with a standing ovation from the assembled lawmakers.
