Tipper Slams Into LPG Tanker on Epe-Lekki Expressway; Two Hospitalized

A major road incident occurred yesterday, October 14, 2025, when a tipper truck, reportedly laden with granite, collided with a stationary Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanker and a third articulated truck near Berger Bridge, inward Epe, along the Epe–Ibeju Lekki Expressway. The crash caused widespread alarm among motorists and led to two injuries.
Dependable NG reports that the accident was triggered after the tipper truck, suspected to be driven at excessive speed, lost control. It subsequently slammed into the two stationary vehicles—the LPG tanker, registration number MKA-232ZE, which had broken down earlier, and another articulated vehicle carrying tyres.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that while the collision created chaos on the busy route, a major tragedy was narrowly avoided, as no lives were lost. LASEMA’s emergency response team was quickly dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.
The agency confirmed that the collision resulted in the tipper driver and his assistant sustaining injuries of varying degrees. They were promptly treated by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) personnel before being moved to the Epe General Hospital for further medical care. Investigation into the incident and confirmation of the other trucks’ details are still ongoing.
