The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended three police inspectors who are accused of brutally assaulting a 22-year-old man named Jacob Sunday, resulting in him being left in a coma.
Dependable NG reports that the horrific incident occurred on Tuesday evening at the 22 PMF Barracks in Ogudu. According to reports obtained by journalists, the officers—identified as Inspector John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu, Inspector Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja, and Inspector Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja—allegedly lured the young man into their room around 6 pm before subjecting him to severe torture.
Jacob Sunday, who is reportedly the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, was accused by the inspectors of having an affair with the wife of a superior officer, ASP Audu Richard, who is identified as Sarah Richard and also resides within the barracks complex. Sources close to the incident disclosed that the victim was stripped naked and mercilessly beaten until he lost consciousness.
The victim was eventually rescued by a team of detectives and immediately rushed to the Police College Cottage Hospital in Ikeja, where he is currently receiving critical medical care in the emergency unit. The three accused officers have since been arrested by the authorities and placed in detention pending the outcome of a comprehensive disciplinary and criminal investigation being conducted by the Command. Police authorities in Lagos have confirmed the arrests and issued a firm assurance that justice will be swiftly served upon the completion of the ongoing investigation into the matter.
