Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natasha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has explained her decision to hold her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours in Lagos, Nigeria, rather than accepting offers to host the event in the United Kingdom.

Dependable NG reports that Tacha disclosed her motivation during a chat with influencer Egungun at her Tacha Beauty Festival. She stated that her decision was driven by a powerful desire to promote Nigeria’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit, aiming to showcase the talent and vibrancy of the local beauty industry.

“London won’t give me the vibes I want. I had sponsorship offers from international brands and we initially planned to do it in London. But it always makes sense to carry your country along,” Tacha said, emphasizing the importance of promoting Nigeria globally.

The 24-hour record attempt began on Saturday night in Lagos, with Tacha targeting 150 makeovers within the timeframe. By Sunday morning, she had already smashed the previous record of 113 makeovers completed within 24 hours, having achieved 115 makeovers in just 12 hours. The event is a central part of the ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day celebration running from October 10 to 12.
