Senator Ben Obi Named Secretary of 2025 National Convention Committee

In a move signaling intensified preparations for its upcoming leadership change, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Senator Ben Ndi Obi as the Secretary of the 2025 Elective National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC).
Dependable NG reports that the appointment received the approval of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC). The decision was formally announced in a statement released on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba.
The appointment is a crucial step ahead of the 2025 PDP Elective National Convention, which has been scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, from Saturday, November 15, to Sunday, November 16, 2025.
The NWC took the opportunity to commend the entire organizing committee, which is headed by Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for its commitment to ensuring a successful convention. The party leadership also issued a call for unity among all party leaders, stakeholders, and members to ensure the smooth conduct of the convention and the continued progress of the PDP.
