Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, has alleged that the Dangote Group has not lived up to its promise of sponsoring her sister’s medical treatment abroad.

Dependency reports that Phyna’s younger sister, Ruth, was involved in a serious accident on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. She was struck by a truck belonging to the Dangote Group, which was reportedly driven by an underage, unlicensed driver.

The crash occurred just six days after Ruth completed her graduation. The impact led to the amputation of her left leg, while her right leg remains in a critical condition.

In emotional updates shared on Wednesday, Phyna disclosed that after visiting Ruth in person, she realized her condition was far more severe than what she initially revealed publicly. She explained that she has been in continuous discussions with officials from the Dangote Group.

According to her, the company initially agreed to her request to have Ruth flown to India for specialized treatment. However, Ruth was first admitted to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, where Phyna was instructed to submit a medical report. Despite complying, she claimed the company later backtracked, saying they would need further consultations before making a decision.

She added that Dangote’s representatives later requested another report from Lagoon Hospital to confirm that Ruth’s case could not be managed locally.

In a detailed Instagram post, Phyna lamented that the official she had been communicating with has ignored her messages for more than 24 hours. This, she said, has cast doubts on the company’s sincerity in honoring its promise.

She appealed directly to Aliko Dangote, urging him to personally step in to ensure her sister receives the urgent care she needs.

“My sister’s life is in danger. She requires treatment that goes beyond the capacity of hospitals here. Dangote must honor their commitment,” she wrote.
