The Federal High Court in Abuja has validated the medical facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) as adequate for the medical care of the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Concurrently, the court issued a stern directive that Kanu must close his defence in his ongoing terrorism trial by October 30.

Dependable NG reports that the court’s decision was communicated by one of Kanu’s lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, via a post on his official X account. The judge ruled that the DSS medical facility is sufficient for the defendant’s needs.

According to Ejimakor, the case has been adjourned to October 23, 2025, for the formal commencement of Kanu’s defence. The judge’s deadline ensures a swift conclusion to the defence submissions.
