The Lagos State Government has given an assurance that the long-anticipated Opebi-Mende Link Bridge will be fully completed and ready for public use before the close of 2025. This commitment was highlighted by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, during a recent interactive meeting with members of the Lagos State Correspondents’ Chapel in Alausa, Ikeja.

Omotoso affirmed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, are fully committed to ensuring the timely completion of all major infrastructure projects across the state, reiterating that the administration maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward abandoned initiatives.

Dependable NG reports that the Commissioner specifically mentioned the Opebi-Mende Bridge, noting that only “finishing touches” remain before its commissioning can take place before the end of the year. He added that the administration is also focused on the speedy delivery of other key projects across multiple sectors, positioning Lagos for significant infrastructural and social development.

In the health sector, the new Massey Children’s Hospital is nearing completion, though it is expected to be fully equipped and commissioned next year. The Ojo General Hospital is also listed among the facilities nearing completion. Furthermore, the state’s efforts to boost food security are advancing with the establishment of strategic food hubs.
