Kano State Government Declares Friday Public Holiday for Maulud Celebration

The Kano State Government has officially declared Friday, September 12, a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Maulud celebration, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government encouraged residents to observe the holiday peacefully and in accordance with the Prophet’s teachings.The State Government urges residents to take advantage of this blessed occasion to offer special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the overall progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.
The government also called on citizens to reflect on the values of unity, tolerance, and respect for lawful authority, which are central to the celebration. Maulud is an annual event where Muslims across different sects commemorate the life of the holy prophet and reflect on his teachings
