Kano Police Arraign 13 Okada, Tricycle Operators Over Curfew Violation

The Kano State Police Command has formally arraigned 13 commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators before Magistrate Court No. 36, sitting in Gyadi-Gyadi, over the alleged violation of the state’s stipulated operating hours.

Dependable NG reports that during Friday’s court session, the defendants were formally charged with the offense, to which they all pleaded not guilty.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Nura Abdullahi Fagge, requested the court to issue an order compelling the police to produce the motorcycles that were seized from the defendants, as he argued they constituted crucial evidence in the case.

The prosecutor then requested an adjournment to enable the police to formulate a proper response to the application made by the defense counsel.

Presiding Magistrate, Rakiya Tanko, subsequently adjourned the matter to January 6, 2026, for further hearing and proceeded to grant the defendants bail.
