Jigawa Governor Namadi Tasks Contractors on Timely Project Completion

The Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has issued a clear directive to contractors handling various projects across the state, explicitly tasking them to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing work.

Dependable NG reports that the Governor delivered the warning at the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the 23.4-kilometre Tarabu–Matarar Alhazai–Malanta–Sawo-Iyo–Gishinawo–Gafta Road, which was awarded at a cost of ₦17.28 billion. This event was combined with the commissioning of a power project executed by the state government to connect several rural communities to the national grid.

According to a press statement signed by Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the road project is one of the state’s critical regional initiatives aimed at boosting access to rural and farming communities.

Governor Namadi emphasized the road’s immense significance, stating: “It will improve agricultural activities, ease the transportation of goods, and strengthen the link between government and local communities.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to provide every part of the state with essential access roads that support agricultural growth. The Governor placed a firm demand on the contractors, saying: “I therefore urge the contractor to speed up the pace to ensure that the work is finished on schedule. I am confident that the contractor has no outstanding certificate with the Jigawa State Government, and I expect continuous, quality work.”
