INEC Records Over 95% Upload of Polling Unit Results on IReV Portal for Anambra Governorship Poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Saturday that a significant majority of the results from the Anambra State governorship election have been successfully uploaded to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV). The commission stated that over 95 per cent of the results have been transmitted, demonstrating a notable success in the deployment of electoral technology.
Dependable NG reports that a review of the commission’s public portal confirmed the steady progress in the electronic transmission of results from polling units across all 21 local government areas of the state. According to data available on the IReV portal, a total of 5,472 results have been uploaded out of the expected 5,720 polling units where the election took place. This shows improved efficiency in the use of technology compared with previous elections.
INEC has consistently assured the public that the uploaded results will remain secure and verifiable throughout the entire process, underscoring its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent election. While the final official announcement is still pending collation, the near-complete upload of polling unit results allows the public and political parties to independently track the results and build confidence in the electoral outcome.
