Hadi Sirika Dismisses Rumors of Anti-Tinubu Coalition, Reaffirms Position

Former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, has unequivocally refuted claims linking him to an opposition coalition allegedly plotting to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Appearing on a recent television program, Sirika stated his non-involvement and confirmed he would never be a part of such a group.

When directly confronted with the rumors, Sirika provided a simple and direct response: “No, I am not.” He further elaborated on a recent conversation with Chief Bayo Onanuga at the Presidential Villa, where he directly addressed the speculation. “Yesterday, I was with Chief Bayo Onanuga in the Presidential Villa and he said I was in the coalition. I told him I was not and never will be. He said he got that from the reports. People can join coalition, it is democracy,” Sirika explained, underscoring his stance while acknowledging the rights of others to form political alliances.

The former minister also clarified the purpose of his recent visit to Aso Rock, explaining that it was not politically motivated but rather a formal visit to extend condolences to President Tinubu following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. “The purpose of the meeting was to officially pay our condolences to the President, who did extremely well after the demise of our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari,” he stated, dispelling any other interpretations of his visit.

Sirika’s public statements aim to put an end to the speculation surrounding his political activities and reaffirm his position within the current political landscape.
