Governor Oborevwori’s Leadership Fosters Unity in Delta APC After PDP Transition

The Delta State Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has declared that the recent transition of the state’s political structure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully fostered harmony and collective purpose across all levels of the party in the state.
Dependable NG reports that the Commissioner, while addressing journalists in Asaba, highlighted the exceptional integration efforts led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori since the defection on April 28, 2025. According to Aniagwu, extensive meetings have been held at the ward, local government, and senatorial levels to consolidate internal unity, which culminated in a recent statewide stakeholders’ meeting attended by top political figures, including senators, members of the House of Representatives, and key government appointees.
Mr. Aniagwu, who was accompanied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Projects and Policies, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, categorically dismissed any claims of disunity within the party. He stressed that the APC has achieved unprecedented cohesion under the Governor’s leadership.
“At that meeting, participants unanimously expressed confidence in the Governor’s performance and pledged total support for both Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Aniagwu affirmed. He noted the high attendance, stating that nearly all senators and House of Representatives members were present, with those absent having official engagements and taking formal permission.
The Commissioner likened the party’s current strength to scoring a distinction in an examination. “In an examination, when you score 50%, you get credit. But when you achieve 98% success in a political gathering, that’s distinction,” he said. He further observed that Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive leadership style had created a renewed sense of purpose among members, describing the Governor as a patient and insightful leader who understands the dynamics of people and power.
Aniagwu concluded by urging observers to celebrate the hundreds of loyal members who attended the recent meeting, contributed to the discussion, and reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and its leadership. He maintained that the enthusiasm and unity witnessed across the state are proof that the Delta APC is now stronger than ever, with all members aligned in vision and purpose under Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
