Governor Lawal Urges United, Sustained Action to Overcome Insecurity in Zamfara

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has issued a strong appeal for a united and sustained strategy to combat the persistent insecurity challenges plaguing the state. The call for collective action was made on Monday during the 18th Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Gusau.
Governor Lawal underscored the critical need for collective responsibility among all council members and stakeholders to ensure the restoration of lasting peace throughout Zamfara. The governor confirmed that the executive meeting was comprehensive, covering crucial issues that directly impact the state’s progress, including security, education, healthcare, and infrastructural development.
Dependable NG reports that while acknowledging the efforts made so far, Governor Lawal noted that the state has recorded demonstrable progress in restoring “relative peace” across several local areas. However, he issued a stern warning that the battle against insecurity is far from over, emphasising that much more work is required to achieve a complete and final victory over the menace. This candid assessment underscores the severity of the threat that still lingers in parts of the state.
The Governor then gave a specific charge to his cabinet, urging all council members to maintain a proactive stance. He stressed the necessity of engaging directly with their constituents and local government officials, and ensuring they provide regular, accurate updates on the security situation to the relevant authorities.
Furthermore, Governor Lawal called for a much stronger level of collaboration and synergy among all political appointees and elected officials across the state. He insisted that such unity is vital not only for tackling the security crisis but also for enhancing overall governance and ensuring effective service delivery to the people of Zamfara State.
