Governor Alia’s Aide, Youths Intercept Robbers, Recover Stolen Goods in Makurdi Raid

The quick thinking and determined effort of Benue youths, under the leadership of Gbenda Terver, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth Organisation and Illegal Levies, led to the interception of robbers and the recovery of valuable items following a break-in at Agber Villa, Makurdi, on Monday.
Dependable NG reports that the robbery incident took place at around 3 a.m. after a resident, Lady Pesh, alerted the youth network to the presence of armed criminals in the area. SSA Gbenda Terver, despite being at the Governor Alia Youth House celebrating his birthday, immediately mobilized his team and deployed them to the scene.
The youths successfully pursued the fleeing suspects in the direction of the Wadata axis, which forced the robbers to discard a bag containing the stolen loot. The recovered valuables were significant, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max, an iPad, a laptop, four additional smartphones, a hot plate, and a vehicle jack.
Gbenda confirmed that all items, with the exception of the vehicle jack which is still being verified, have been returned to their legitimate owners upon presentation of proof of ownership at the Office of Youth Organization and Illegal Levies.
Commending the residents for their swift cooperation, the SSA urged all Benue youths to maintain their vigilance and adherence to the law, warning that criminal activities would be severely dealt with. He also instructed the coordinators of the Task Force on Illegal Levies to intensify their monitoring efforts and work in tandem with security agencies across all 23 local government areas to ensure statewide safety.
