Ghanaian Singer Moliy Blasts Zinoleesky as ‘Local Champion’ in Online Feud over Collaboration Rumours

Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter Moliy and Nigerian rapper Zinoleesky were embroiled in a heated public spat on social media on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, sparked by a rumour of a potential collaboration between the two artists.
Dependable NG reports that the drama began after Moliy decisively rejected the idea of a joint track. She retweeted a flyer promoting the supposed collaboration with a single, dismissive word: “Who?,” strongly suggesting she was unfamiliar with the Nigerian music star.
This apparent snub was not taken lightly by Zinoleesky, who quickly fired back at the Ghanaian artist. He referred to Moliy as a “2 hits wonder,” asserting that he barely knew the titles of her songs. “2 hits wonder… and I don’t even know the 2nd song @Moliymusic,” he wrote on his social media handle.
Moliy immediately retaliated with an even more condescending remark, thanking Zinoleesky for his ignorance of her work and declaring that she preferred not to associate with “local champions.” Her counter-attack read: “Very grateful to not be known by you, artists that know me aren’t local champions.”
The online altercation has since ignited a strong reaction from Zinoleesky’s Nigerian fan base, with many now threatening to “cancel” Moliy in the Nigerian music space. Moliy, known for her Afrobeats and Alté fusion sound, has secured significant international recognition, with her recent song ‘Shake It To The Max Remix’ achieving a number one spot on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart and securing two entries each on the Official UK Charts and the Billboard Hot 100.
