Former Premier League Referee David Coote Faces Indecent Video Charges

David Coote, a former Premier League referee, has been formally charged with serious offenses related to an indecent video involving a child. The 43-year-old is now set to appear in a UK court to answer to the legal charges.
Coote is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he will face the accusation of producing an indecent image of a child. The charge, which can include the creation, downloading, sharing, or saving of abusive visual content, stems from a video that was reportedly recovered by Nottinghamshire Police investigators in FebruaryThe ex-referee was charged in August of the previous year and has since been on conditional bail. This legal development follows his dismissal by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) in December, a decision that came after a video of him making derogatory remarks about then-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in 2020 became public.
