The Federal Government has vehemently asserted that Nigeria is not a nation heading towards genocide but is instead “an accommodating paradise” for all its citizens, irrespective of their political or religious backgrounds.

Dependable NG reports that the assertion was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, while speaking on Wednesday at the Quarterly Strategy Meeting of the Progressive Governors Forum with Commissioners of Information from All Progressives Congress (APC)-governed States. The meeting was themed: ‘FGN Synergy 2025: One message, one future.’

The Minister dismissed all narratives suggesting genocide in Nigeria, branding such claims as false. He stressed that this form of misinformation is deliberately aimed at dividing the country and instigating hatred, warning that it would not serve the nation’s best interests.

“Such misinformation is worse than anything you can think of. Nigerians need to stand together to shut down such evil narration that will not bring us unity and prosperity,” Idris stated. He emphasized the necessity of having the capacity to counter these biased and wrong narratives, both in the domestic media and on the international stage.
