A woman identified as Mrs. Chinelo, the wife of the former traditional ruler of Ibom Isii, in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, was publicly paraded by an enraged community on Wednesday after she was allegedly caught burying charms in a compound.

Dependable NG reports that the incident unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday at approximately 2 AM. Videos circulating among the villagers show the woman, identified as the former Queen, tied in a red wrapper and being led barefoot around the villages of Ibom Isii by a crowd of about 200 villagers. The angry residents were seen singing and playing local musical instruments as they conducted the public shaming.

In the circulating footage, Mrs. Chinelo is seen carrying a plate, which the villagers claimed contained the charms she intended to bury. Some community members in the video also alleged that the former Queen had previously been sent away from her husband’s home due to accusations of infidelity.

Following the extensive parade, a community source indicated that Mrs. Chinelo was handed over to the elders to either state her innocence or confess to her actions. However, conflicting reports emerged, with another villager claiming that Chinelo had already confessed her activities upon being caught, noting that such an act is considered an abomination in the community. Despite the claims of a confession, the video showed the former monarch’s wife walking silently throughout the parade, carrying the alleged charms without uttering any words.
