Enugu Defection: Sam Amadi Blames PDP’s Collapse on ‘Love of Wike’s Money’

Public affairs analyst and former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is responsible for its own current political woes, claiming the party “destroyed itself by love of Wike’s money.”

Dependable NG reports that Dr. Amadi made the remark in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, where he publicly defended the decision of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah to defect from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Amadi’s comments follow Governor Mbah’s formal declaration, made during a state-wide broadcast, where the governor stated the move was necessary to align the South-Eastern state with the central government. According to the analyst, the APC is structurally superior to the opposition. Amadi described the APC as “d best organized & sensible party” in Nigeria, though he qualified this by adding that it has a “bad presidential candidate.” He concluded by re-affirming his belief that Labour Party’s Peter Obi remains the “best guy to save Nigeria now,” but questioned the political platform he would use given the current state of the nation’s political parties.
