Delta Assembly Speaker Lauds Security Trust Fund as Visionary Step Towards Stability

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Dennis Guwor, has hailed the newly launched Delta State Security Trust Fund, describing it as a “bold and forward-thinking initiative” strategically designed to fortify the state’s security infrastructure.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker assured all citizens of the Assembly’s complete and unwavering support for any and all policies and programmes dedicated to enhancing the welfare, safety, and prosperity of Deltans.
Dependable NG reports that Guwor explained that the fund, which was legally established by a law enacted by the Delta State Assembly, is primarily intended to mobilise private sector resources to augment the government’s existing investments in security. He stressed the legislative commitment to providing thorough oversight and backing to guarantee that the Trust Fund is managed with full transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
Commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the timely unveiling of the Fund, the Speaker characterized the launch as a strategic move necessary for the effective promotion of peace, stability, prosperity, and good governance across the state.
Guwor issued a strong call to corporate organisations, development partners, and patriotic individuals to embrace this initiative as a shared responsibility towards fostering a more secure Delta State. He particularly praised Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership and expressed strong optimism that the fund would attract significant contributions.
The Speaker specifically cited the monumental N10 billion donation from the Chairman of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as a powerful example of community-driven support for the state’s development.
“The launch of the Security Trust Fund is a testament to the Governor’s dedication to addressing security challenges in our state and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” Guwor stated. He affirmed that security is the “bedrock of sustainable development,” and the new fund would provide crucial support to security agencies, enabling them to operate more effectively and respond rapidly to emerging threats.
Guwor concluded by assuring Deltans of the Assembly’s continued legislative support and oversight for the effective implementation of the Fund, emphasising: “Security is everyone’s business. I encourage stakeholders to collaborate with the government in sustaining this fund. Together, we can make Delta a model of safety and peace.”
