Chieftain Warns Tinubu Over Possible Exit of Ex-Minister Pantami and Other Key Figures

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Khamis Musa Darazo, a strong loyalist of President Bola Tinubu, has issued a dire warning to the Presidency and the party’s national leadership, urging swift action to prevent the reported exodus of key members, including the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.
Dependable NG reports that Darazo expressed profound concern over the rumours of Pantami’s potential departure, describing such an event as a major political setback for the APC, both in the North and across Nigeria. He emphasized that Pantami is a figure of immense value, noting, “Professor Pantami is not just a politician; he is an intellectual, reformer, and bridge-builder who has used knowledge, faith, and integrity to promote good governance and inspire young Nigerians.”
Darazo’s warning extends beyond the former Minister, as he cautioned that several other influential figures within the APC are also contemplating leaving. He insisted that the party’s leadership must intervene immediately to address grievances, restore unity, and maintain confidence among its members. He praised Pantami’s record as a Minister under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, crediting his tenure with revolutionizing the digital economy sector, leading to significant innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurial growth.
According to the chieftain, losing a figure of Pantami’s calibre would not only weaken the APC’s intellectual base and moral image but would also be discouraging to millions of young Nigerians who look up to him as a role model for integrity and visionary leadership. He concluded his appeal by stressing the fundamental principles of the ruling party. “The APC’s strength lies in unity, inclusion, and visionary leadership. Every loyal member matters — especially someone like Professor Pantami, whose influence goes beyond party lines.”
