Bandits Raze Houses, Shop in Sokoto Community Despite No Casualties
A group of bandits recently launched an attack on the Adamawa community, situated in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, during which they set fire to several houses and a shop.
Dependable NG reports that the incident was detailed in a post shared on the social media platform X on Monday by security analyst Bakatsine. The analyst confirmed the raid took place late the previous night.
Bakatsine wrote: “Armed bandits attacked Adamawa community in Kalgo Ward, Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State yesterday night.”
Despite the severity of the raid, Bakatsine noted that thankfully, no lives were lost and no residents were abducted. However, the bandits inflicted significant property damage. The analyst confirmed that the bandits “burned three houses including those belonging to Malam Ila, a cleric and the village head as well as a shop that had been looted before setting ablaze.”
The analyst ended his post by questioning the prolonged duration of such attacks in the region: “How many more communities must endure such attacks before solutions arrive?”
Authorities in Sokoto State have yet to issue an official statement or comment regarding the destructive raid on the Adamawa community.
