Apostle Arome Osayi Recounts Brother’s Kidnapping, Death Despite Ransom Payment

Popular preacher Apostle Arome Osayi has shared a deeply personal and heartbreaking account of the kidnapping and subsequent death of his brother, revealing how the tragic event profoundly tested his faith but ultimately left his spiritual resilience unbroken.

Dependable NG reports that Apostle Osayi recounted the ordeal during a recent sermon, describing the meticulous sequence of events: terrorists abducted his brother and immediately demanded a hefty ransom running into millions of naira.

Despite the family mobilizing quickly and fully meeting the captors’ financial demands, the outcome was devastating. The family was later summoned to retrieve his brother’s lifeless body from the forest, confirming that he had died while still in captivity. “My brother was kidnapped, and after paying a huge ransom, we were called to collect his body in the forest. Nothing can prepare you for such heartbreak,” he shared.

Reflecting on the immense emotional toll of losing a loved one under such brutal circumstances, Osayi acknowledged the pain but emphasized that his profound understanding of Scripture provided the necessary strength to remain composed and focused.

He explained his unusual lack of outward grief: “I did not shed a tear, not because I was not attached to him, but because I understand the Word. It teaches you to avoid excessive grief or overwhelming despair. You learn to remain steady in the midst of trials.”

Apostle Osayi added that his composed response to the tragedy was a deliberate act of spiritual warfare and perseverance. “I refused to let this tragedy give the enemy an advantage. Your life follows your most dominant thoughts, and I chose to keep my focus on faith and perseverance.”
