American Woman, 60, Dies Suddenly in Warri While Visiting Younger Male Friend

A 60-year-old American national, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, tragically passed away in Warri, Delta State, while on a visit to see her 39-year-old male companion. The deceased, who landed in Warri on September 15, 2025, was staying at the residence of her acquaintance, Alawode Olaide, according to security expert Zagazola Makama.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 29, at approximately 3:00 PM, when Elton suddenly developed severe health complications. She was rushed for immediate medical attention, first to a private medical facility located in Otokutu. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was subsequently transferred to the Central Hospital, Warri. However, medical personnel at the Central Hospital pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Following the unexpected death of the foreign national, law enforcement officers were immediately notified of the situation. Police personnel visited the residence where Elton had been staying and subsequently detained Olaide, the 39-year-old male friend, for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding the death. The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Central Hospital morgue, where it awaits an official autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full probe and comprehensive investigation.
