ADC Kaduna Clarifies: Nenadi Usman and Bashir Saidu Lead Coalition, Not State Party
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kaduna State Chapter, has moved to dispel a misrepresentation regarding its leadership structure, clarifying that Senator Nenadi Esther Usman and Bashir Saidu are leaders of a broader opposition coalition in the state, and not officials of the ADC party itself.
Dependable NG reports that a statement issued by the ADC Chairman in Kaduna State, Elder Patrick D. Ambut, explained that the attention of the party was drawn to certain misrepresentations following the recent appointments of a Chairman and Co-Chairman made by the Coalition Partners in the state. Ambut asserted that for the avoidance of any doubt, the ADC as a political party maintains its duly elected leadership structure, which remains intact and entirely unaffected by the coalition’s internal appointments.
The Chairman explained that the Coalition Partners represent an alliance of various political parties, individuals, and interest groups, including the Labour Party, who have come together in a collective and patriotic effort to rescue Nigerians from what they term the current hardship and maladministration under the ruling APC government. Ambut noted that to coordinate these coalition activities more effectively in Kaduna State, it became necessary to designate internal leadership positions, resulting in the appointments of a Chairman and Co-Chairman.
Ambut stressed that these appointments are entirely separate and distinct from the established leadership structure of the ADC in Kaduna State. He clarified that the move is purely designed to provide unified leadership to all opposition political leaders within the state. He added that the appointment of Senator Nenadi Usman, who is the Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party, as the Coalition Chairman, aligns perfectly with her party’s known commitment to the joint opposition front. Ambut concluded that the clarification became necessary to stop the false narrative being circulated in some quarters that Senator Nenadi Usman had defected to the ADC party.
