Actor Macaroni Blasts APC as ‘Most Corrupt’ Over Tinubu’s Pardon of 175 Convict

Popular content creator and political activist, Mr. Macaroni, has launched a scathing critique against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring the party is “filled with most corrupt people.” The actor’s condemnation comes amid a rising tide of controversy and national backlash trailing the recent presidential clemency granted to over 175 convicted individuals in Nigeria.
Dependable NG reports that the decision by President Bola Tinubu to pardon a large number of prisoners last week, including convicted drug barons, murderers, and human traffickers, has ignited public anger, particularly across social media platforms. The list of beneficiaries, as reported, included individuals convicted of serious crimes, a move critics argue undermines the nation’s judicial process and justice system. Mr. Macaroni took to his social media platform to amplify the voices of Nigerians protesting the move. He reposted a comment from a user, @DOlusegun, who lamented the lack of street protests following the pardon, noting that in “saner climes, civil society organizations should be on the streets.”
In his own reaction, which quickly went viral, Mr. Macaroni accused the APC of hypocrisy, claiming they now actively engage in the very acts of corruption and immorality they once vehemently opposed. The comedian did not mince words, describing the ruling party’s current state as a catastrophic alliance. He wrote: “Every evil that the APC once condemned, they now practice and support. APC is a party filled with most corrupt people surrounded by worst sycophants. A marriage of doom and misfortune!”. The activist’s strong statement underscores the growing pressure on the Presidency to address the public outcry regarding the controversial prerogative of mercy, which has been widely perceived as an act that emboldens criminality rather than dispensing true justice.
