Popular Nollywood comic actor Olatayo Amokade, widely known as Ijebu, has publicly intervened in the escalating family feud between Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, and her mother. Following a series of bitter exchanges played out on social media after Imisi secured the N150 million prize money, the actor has called for an immediate end to the dispute, urging the reality TV star to seek her mother’s forgiveness.

The public quarrel has deep roots stemming from Imisi’s traumatic revelations on the reality show. During her time in the house, she detailed a difficult childhood, including being sent out of the house by her father at age 11, working as a fufu seller, and enduring sexual abuse that led to an abortion at age 13.

The family tension exploded into public view when Imisi’s mother, weeks after her daughter’s massive win, released a viral video alleging that she had been abandoned. Imisi responded by questioning the timing and sincerity of her mother’s complaint, highlighting their already strained relationship before she gained fame. “Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you would not even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now?” she questioned, emphasizing her mother’s absence during her struggles.

While confirming that she had made recent financial transfers—“I still sent money to you last week and four days ago”—Imisi made it clear she would not be overwhelmed by family expectations: “Will I kill myself? You cannot remove N1 out of the money I won for anybody’s comfort. I have 100 people in the family looking up to me alone.”

Reacting to the ongoing online drama, actor Ijebu posted a video on his Instagram page urging Imisi to reconcile. He invoked religious principles, emphasizing the gravity of the mother-child relationship. “Imisi, I know you are a good girl. The Bible said we should honour our parents,” he began. Ijebu’s plea was direct and emotional: “This evening or tomorrow morning, I want you to visit your mother, go on your knees, hold her legs, and tell her you are sorry. Let her pray for you.” He concluded by urging her to acknowledge her mother’s irreplaceable role, asserting, “No matter what she might have done to you, she is still your mini god on earth. After this, I don’t want to hear any dragging again online. If I hear anything again, I will be so mad at you.”
