In a grave development in Abia State, Governor Alex Otti has officially directed the State Police Command to commence a thorough investigation into the alleged disappearance of a 23-year-old youth, Solomon Ikokwu, an indigene of Amangwu Oloko, Ikwuano Local Government Area.

Dependable NG reports that the investigation follows the harrowing account provided by the young man’s mother, Mrs. Onyekachi Ikokwu. Mrs. Ikokwu stated that her son was arrested on September 27, 2025, by members of a disbanded local security outfit known as the Vigilante, who accused him of committing a crime.

The distraught mother gave a grim account, alleging that members of the vigilante group forcibly dragged her son from the family compound. She claimed they inflicted deep machete cuts on him and struck him with a moulded block, causing him to bleed and vomit blood profusely.

Mrs. Ikokwu further alleged that following the brutal assault, the security operatives placed her unconscious son in a wheelbarrow and transported his body to a riverside. Solomon Ikokwu has not been seen or heard from since that date, September 27. The family’s ordeal did not end there, as the mother also claimed that the perpetrators later returned to assault another of her sons and issued threats to eliminate other members of her family.
