Ekiti: ADC Candidate Bejide Assures Supporters of Electoral Victory in 2026
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has voiced renewed confidence in its preparations for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, with its governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, assuring party supporters that electoral victory is certain.
Dependable NG reports that Bejide received a massive welcome at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti following his return from Abuja, where he reaffirmed his strong commitment to leading the ADC to success in the upcoming polls.
Addressing the large gathering of enthusiastic supporters, Bejide emphasized that the gathering was an opportunity to express gratitude for the party’s journey so far, rather than a formal campaign rally. He urged all members to remain steadfast and not allow the recent internal crisis at the party secretariat to discourage them, calling the incident a temporary setback. “This is a positive beginning towards 2026,” he said. “The ticket is in God’s hands—no power comes except from Him.”
The event attracted several notable party figures, including State Chairman Pastor Omolayo, former Commissioner for Information, Akin Omole, Hon. Femi Adegbite, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, and Hon. Dare Adekolu. All pledged their unwavering support for Bejide’s ambition and reiterated their dedication to strengthening the party ahead of the election.
Pastor Omolayo commended members for their courage in attending despite recent tensions, calling for unity and solidarity and describing the ADC as a party founded on mutual respect and love. Barr. Omole acknowledged the unrest that affected the party in the preceding weeks, noting that Ambassador Bejide had traveled to Abuja specifically to resolve critical electoral issues.
Regarding the earlier attack on the party office, Bejide described it as politically motivated and confirmed that the matter had been formally reported to the relevant authorities in Abuja. He also highlighted major national challenges like insecurity and unemployment, linking them to failures in past leadership. He maintained that empowering citizens through skills acquisition and revitalizing the agricultural sector are key strategies to address these issues both in Ekiti and across Nigeria.
Bejide declared, “We have a lot to do, and we are determined to achieve it,” reaffirming the ADC’s readiness to work tirelessly for the betterment of the people. With this renewed confidence from both its leadership and grassroots supporters, the ADC is positioning itself to be a major contender as the countdown to the 2026 Ekiti governorship election intensifies.
