Enugu Man Allegedly Kills Girlfriend Inside Pharmacy Over Cheating Accusations

A tragic incident unfolded in Nsukka, Enugu State, on Monday, where a young woman was allegedly killed inside Bekay Pharmacy at the Total Roundabout after her boyfriend confronted her over accusations of infidelity.

Dependable NG reports that the alleged perpetrator, identified as Emma Nwagwu, reportedly stormed into the pharmacy where the victim was receiving treatment. According to a Facebook post shared by popular social media influencer, Sen. Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, Nwagwu accused the woman of being involved with another man, who was claimed to be a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the Nsukka area. Ugwuanyi further alleged that the DPO was waiting outside in his vehicle at the time of the fatal confrontation.

Witness accounts allege that during the heated argument, Nwagwu violently smashed the victim’s head against a wall. She collapsed immediately and reportedly died on the spot. An angry crowd quickly gathered and attempted to mob the suspect, forcing security personnel to intervene to prevent jungle justice.

The social media post further alleged that Nwagwu attempted to attack the DPO, who responded by drawing his service pistol. Bystanders managed to restrain both men until security personnel took control of the situation. The suspect, Emma Nwagwu, was subsequently taken into custody at the Nsukka Police Area Command.

It is being widely alleged that the suspect is a known political operative who has worked with successive administrations in the Nsukka Local Government Area. Police authorities in Enugu are yet to release an official statement on the matter. Ugwuanyi’s post summarized the incident: “This notorious man from #Opi_Nsukka working with every govt in power in Nsukka Local government area kîlled this girl yesterday inside #Bekay pharmacy shop located at total roundabout Nsukka.”
