Ayeni Tipped for Enyimba Job

Former Akwa United manager Deji Ayeni is now being strongly linked with the vacant technical adviser position at Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants, Enyimba. The People’s Elephant are urgently seeking a permanent replacement to steady their campaign.

Enyimba are currently in the market for a new head coach following the recent suspension of their long-serving technical adviser, Stanley Eguma. Lawrence Ukaegbu has temporarily taken charge of the nine-time NPFL champions on an interim basis.

Ayeni brings significant experience in the Nigerian top flight to the table. Beyond his tenure at Akwa United, the coach has also managed other established NPFL clubs, including Crown FC and Sunshine Stars.

The speculation over a new coach comes at a critical time for Enyimba, who suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Katsina United in their last league outing.

The former champions face another tough challenge immediately ahead. Their next crucial league fixture this weekend is a high-stakes clash against rivals Rangers.
