United States Congressman Riley M. Moore has strongly retaliated against the People’s Republic of China (PRC) over its position on the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria, asserting that Beijing will not be allowed to dictate US foreign policy.

Dependable NG reports that the congressman’s sharp reaction follows a warning issued by China on Tuesday against any foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs, specifically referencing the recent threat made by President Donald Trump.

President Trump had previously designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” due to the alleged persecution of Christians, which was accompanied by a threat of possible military action. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, issued a statement on Tuesday emphasizing that China remains firmly opposed to using religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in the domestic affairs of sovereign nations.

Reacting to China’s statement via a post on his official X handle, Rep. Moore dismissed the Chinese warning, linking it to China’s own human rights record. “China will not dictate our foreign policy to us, and we will not be lectured to by a Communist autocracy that recently arrested 30 Christian pastors for their faith and throws ethnic minorities in concentration camps,” the US lawmaker wrote. He strongly defended President Trump’s actions, affirming that the President is “absolutely right to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering horrific persecution, and even martyrdom, for their faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” Moore, who has been a vocal advocate for US intervention on the matter, reiterated his support for the administration’s focus on the issue.
