A major music feud has erupted after American rapper Yung Miami accused South African singer Tyla of stealing the concept for an unreleased track. The claim centers on Tyla’s forthcoming single, titled ‘Chanel.’

Dependable NG reports that the controversy began after Tyla teased the track on social media on Thursday. Yung Miami took to her own platforms, alleging she had played her unreleased song, also named ‘Chanel,’ for Tyla, who she believes appropriated the idea.

The hip-hop star expressed her feeling of betrayal, stating that seeing Tyla tease the similar song made her “emotionally downcast.”

“This girl really ran off with my song and I don’t know how to feel about it. Mind you, I played this song for this girl,” Yung Miami wrote online. She later confirmed the accusation was indeed directed at Tyla.

These allegations have quickly fuelled debate about intellectual property ethics and the often-complex professional relationships between African and Afro-American artists. As of this time, Tyla has not issued any public response to the claim.
