2Baba Refutes London Arrest Rumours, Cites Medical Emergency for Missed Show

Nigerian music veteran Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face Idibia or 2Baba, has publicly addressed and refuted viral reports claiming he was arrested in London following an alleged domestic altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru. The speculation began to circulate after the iconic singer failed to appear for a scheduled performance, the first stop on his UK tour, on Thursday.
The unverified reports suggested the singer had been taken into custody by UK Police after a heated argument with Ms. Osawaru. Dependable NG reports that in a video shared on his Instagram account on Friday, 2Baba unequivocally denied the arrest, clarifying that his absence from the show was due to an unforeseen “medical emergency.”
Addressing his fans and the event organizers directly in the video, 2Baba stated, “First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough.”
He went on to assure disappointed attendees that the concert would be rescheduled. “To the organisers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen,” he promised.
The singer also used the opportunity to criticize the rapid spread of unverified information online, urging the public to exercise caution and fact-check before sharing rumours. He concluded his statement with a pointed appeal: “And please, if you know sabi something, make una no talk I beg. This ‘allegedly’, I don tire.”
The incident marks the latest point of public drama in the singer’s personal life, but his official statement attributes his missed professional engagement solely to a sudden health issue, allowing the focus to shift back to a potential rescheduling of his UK tour dates.
